Addressing a press briefing in Colombo, the Minister said he welcomed the disciplinary investigation directed against him, and he was happy to accept the outcome of the investigation, but recalled that he did not has not left the party yet.
Emphasizing that this is a non-partisan government, the MP said that he and MP Manusha had become independent.
Speaking further on the challenges faced by the population including queuing for essentials, power outages and children struggling to pass exams, the MP said that this was not the time to be politically divided.
“We have come to a hard default, now is not the time to think about politics, but the time to think about the country,” he said.
However, he added that even though what they have undertaken will result in being despised by the people, their opinion regarding the resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa remains unchanged.
