I absolutely remember when Olestra was marketed as the way to enjoy your favorite high carb snacks without the fat, you just had to accept “anal leaking” as a side effect. This fat substitute was indigestible and had to come out the other end.

The Olestra/Olean chips seemed to have been on the market for less than a year, but certainly some manufacturers will try to bring them back.
