The Cabinet of Qatar holds a weekly meeting


Doha: Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani chaired the regular Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday at his headquarters in the Amiri Diwan.

Following the meeting, the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, HE Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Sulaiti issued the following statement:

At the start of the meeting, the Cabinet listened to the explanations given by the Minister of Public Health H.E. Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari on the latest developments to contain the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). The Cabinet affirmed the continuation of the precautionary measures that have been taken to combat the pandemic.

After that, the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:

First, the approval of:
1- A draft decree of the Minister of the Interior relating to the rules and procedures for filing applications for ordinary passports, their modification and renewal, and the form of all types of passports.

2- A draft decree of the Minister of the Interior relating to the procedures for issuing Qatari travel documents and laissez-passer.

Second, the approval of a draft decision of the Minister of Trade and Industry on the bases and rules for the increase in prices of goods and services.

The preparation of the draft decision replaces Article No. 8 of 2013 and in application of the provisions of Article 10 of Law No. 8 of 2008 on consumer protection, which prohibits the supplier from making any increase prices of goods and services. , without complying with the bases and rules laid down by decree of the Minister, and within the framework of accompanying economic and commercial developments and changes, and ensuring the efficiency and balance of the markets in such a way as to allow appropriate prices to all parties, be they producers, suppliers or consumers.

This decision is also in line with State policy aimed at preserving the purchasing power of private income, reducing the burden on them, limiting price increases and coping with any form of unjustified increase in the prices of goods and services, especially basic ones.

Third, Approval of:

1- A draft Non-Disclosure Agreement between the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority and the Air Navigation Service Provider of the Republic of Portugal.

2- A Draft Agreement on Mutual Exemption from Entry Visa Requirements for Diplomatic, Special, Official and Mission Passport Holders between the State of Qatar and the Government of the Republic of Seychelles.

3- A Draft Agreement on Mutual Exemption from Entry Visa Requirements for Holders of Diplomatic, Special, Official and Mission Passports between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Republic of Costa Rica .

4- A draft agreement on the transfer of persons sentenced to a custodial sentence between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Spain.

5- The first executive program of the cultural and technical cooperation agreement between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the years 2022-2023.
