BANGKOK (The Nation/Asia News Network): The Cabinet has approved a standard wage rate for workers in three occupational groups who hold a Department of Skills Development (DSD) certificate.
Deputy government spokeswoman Ratchada Thanadirek said on Tuesday (May 10) that the DSD tests the professional skills, knowledge, abilities and attitude of workers in different fields. Those who pass the test and obtain a certificate from the DSD will receive a salary at the rates mentioned below:
Five lots under construction:
Plasterboard installers: Tier 1: THB 450 per day, Tier 2: THB 595
Designers: Level 1: 645 THB per day
Tilers: Level 1: 450 THB per day, Level 2: 550 THB, Level 3: 650 THB
House painters: Level 1: 465 THB per day, Level 2: 600 THB
Masons and light concrete installers: Level 1: 475 THB per day, Level 2: 575 THB.
Four areas of the industrial arts occupational group (new):
Jewelers: Level 1: 450 THB per day, Level 2: 550 THB per day, Level 3: 650 THB
Furniture installers: Level 1: 430 THB per day, Level 2: 550 THB
Prop Manufacturers: Level 1: TH525 baht per day
Niello workers: Level 1: 625 THB per day
Seven domains in the service occupation group:
Holistic health promotion therapists, including those in massage therapy: Level 1: THB 460 per day, Level 2: THB 475
Pastry chefs: Level 1: 400 THB per day, Level 2: 505 THB
Reception staff: Level 1: 440 THB per day, Level 2: 565 THB
Hotel and restaurant food and beverage employees: Tier 1: THB 440 per day
Hairdressers for women: Level 1: 440 THB per day, Level 2: 510 THB, Level 3: 650 THB
Barbers for men: Level 1: 430 THB per day, Level 2: 500 THB, Level 3: 630 THB
Elder care: Level 1: THB 500 per day.
The above wage rates will take effect 90 days after publication in The Royal Gazette.
