A teenager died after being shot in the chest in Chicago’s Millennium Park on Saturday night.
According to the Chicago Fire Department, the 16-year-old was shot during a rally inside the park.
He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, officials said, but later died of his injuries, according to Chicago police.
There are no further details of the shooting, but police say two people of interest are currently in custody. Two weapons were also recovered at the scene.
Large gatherings of teenagers continue in the loop on Saturday evening, with several CTA bus lines having to modify service due to crowds.
According to the agency, 6 Jackson Park Express and J14 Jeffery Jump buses are being rerouted through the Loop, as are buses on routes 3, 4, 146 and 147. Buses on Route 151 Sheridan are also being diverted due to blockages of streets in Michigan and Washington near Millennium Park.
