Suspect in fatal Fresno hit-and-run that dragged woman 8 miles identified, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Fresno police have identified the suspect they believe was involved in a fatal hit-and-run early Friday morning.

Authorities say Shawn Ginder, 36, was driving a van when he hit a woman pushing a shopping cart and walking her dog on a leash at the intersection of Herndon and Milburn.

After the crash, she was pinned under the van as she dragged it about eight miles to a stop at the La Quinta Inn.

Police say around 2 a.m. they received a report that there was a dead person in the parking lot.

On Friday evening, authorities say they found the truck at the Greystone Apartments near the Fig Garden Loop, where Ginder lives. He was not found in the complex.

The woman who was killed has not been identified.

Anyone with information about Ginder’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Fresno Police Department.
