Seahawks host Broncos on Monday Night Football to open 2022 season


The Seahawks will open their 2022 season playing on a national stage, hosting the Denver Broncos on Week 1 Monday Night Football. Buy tickets now.

The game, which kicks off at 5:15 p.m. PT on Sept. 12, will air on ESPN and ABC, and will mark only the second time in six seasons the Seahawks have opened the season at home. Since 2003, the Seahawks have won 17 of their last 19 home openers, including 12 straight before last year’s Week 2 overtime loss to Tennessee. It will also be the first time in franchise history that the Seahawks will open a season on Monday Night Football.

As well as renewing an old AFC West rivalry and also being a rematch of Super Bowl XLVIII, a 43-8 Seahawks victory over Denver, this Seattle vs. Denver game also offers plenty of additional intrigue as it will see Russell Wilson return to Seattle for his first regular season game as Denver’s quarterback after 10 seasons with the Seahawks. The game will also feature tight end Noah Fant, defensive end Shelby Harris and quarterback Drew Lock facing their former team after joining Seattle in the trade that sent Wilson to Denver.

With each NFL team announcing their home opener, the Seahawks’ Week 2 game was also announced ahead of tonight’s full schedule, with Seattle heading to Santa Clara to take on the 49ers on September 18. for a match at 1:05 p.m. which will be broadcast on RENARD.

The Seahawks’ full schedule will be posted at 5:00 p.m. PT on Seahawks.com, NFL.com and the NFL Network. In addition to the announced first two games, the Seahawks also already know their Week 10 game, which will see them take on Tampa Bay in Munich, Germany.
