Rumor: NVIDIA plans to launch GeForce RTX 4090 in August, RTX 4080 in September and RTX 4070 in October –

Please note that this message is marked as a rumor.

NVIDIA RTX 40 Specifications

We have new information on the GeForce RTX 40 launch dates. As much as we’d love to tell you, these are 100% confirmed dates (and they are, except for now), but things could change very quickly.

NVIDIA RTX 4090 and 4080 on PG139 board

We learned that RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 may have more in common than expected. Although the two SKUs use different GPUs: AD102 and AD103they could actually use the same array: PG139. The RTX 4090 has an SKU designation 330 while the RTX 4080 is 360. This information is new. We don’t know if this means both GPUs are pin compatible, but they are clearly listed with the same card as of today.

To our knowledge, NVIDIA has not yet confirmed the GPU specs of the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 SKUs for two reasons. Each model is based on a different GPU, and therefore they launch one after the other. NVIDIA hasn’t provided the updated specs to the AIBs yet, so it’s probably not worth speculating.

(Current) NVIDIA RTX 40 Launch Schedule

NVIDIA GeForce RTX-4090 is now set to debut in August. The current launch schedule lists RTX4080 with a september launch date and RTX4070 should embark on October. However, our sources expect some dates to change as AIBs still have a lot of RTX 30 inventory left, and the last thing they want is for NVIDIA to announce a new generation.

While all three SKUs should be expected to debut on the same day, their launch will span the following weeks. Also note that the announcement date has yet to be confirmed (it was previously reported as July). Overall, this information matches what Kopite said, except now we can talk about months, not days.
