PlayStation State of Play June 2022: Everything announced, including Final Fantasy 16 and Resident Evil 4 Remake

An all-new PlayStation State of Play is upon us and Sony is ready to show off updates from its third-party partners and “a preview of several games in development for PlayStation VR2”. Will there be even more surprises? We won’t have long to find out.

Final Fantasy 16 will officially release in the summer of 2023

The latest Final Fantasy 16 trailer has finally arrived and it was packed full of gameplay and some of our favorite summons (Eikons in FF16) from Final Fantasy history including Phoenix, Titan, Garuda, Ramuh, Shiva, Odin , Bahamut and Ifrit.

Final Fantasy 16 protagonist Clive Rosfield was also featured in this “Dominance” trailer, and he showed how he and his team will face off against the many enemies that will undoubtedly hamper you in the game’s story.

He also revealed that Final Fantasy 16 will be released on PS5 in the summer of 2023. The game can currently be played from start to finish, and the team is using all that time to polish the game as best they can.

Resident Evil 4 Remake officially announced

Resident Evil 4 Remake is officially on the way and it will be released on March 24, 2023. Capcom seeks to reinvent “the game’s story while keeping the essence of its direction, modernizing the graphics and updating the controls to a standard modern. .”

PSVR2 owners can also expect some type of VR content, although no further details were given.

Resident Evil Village gets the VR treatment

Resident Evil Village will soon allow players to visit its world in a whole new way as it will be available on PlayStation VR 2. And yes, it will be the full campaign, which means you will have to experience [redacted] in virtual reality.

VR will also allow players to protect themselves by raising their arms and using different weapons in each hand for even more combat opportunities.

Street Fighter 6’s first gameplay trailer premiered alongside a 2023 release window

Street Fighter 6 will make its way to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation in 2023. While it might be a bit long for some, Capcom has provided fans with an in-depth look at the gameplay of the latest entry in the legendary fighting franchise.

Horizon Call of the Mountain will let you experience Horizon in a whole new way

The latest State of Play gave us a detailed look at the gameplay of Horizon Call of the Mountain, which is coming exclusively to PSVR2.

In this new story set in the world of the first two games, players will become an ancient Shadow Carja warrior named Ryas who seeks redemption by “investigating a grave new threat to Sundom.” He excels at rock climbing and archery (which are great for VR) and will have to do things like scale “perilous mountains” and “take down mighty machines like the Thunderjaw”.

While players won’t see this world through Aloy’s eyes, they will encounter her and other familiar and new faces along the journey.

It will also potentially be a great showpiece for PSVR2 as, alongside the story mode, there will be a River Ride mode which will take players down a…well…river to enjoy the beautiful scenery. However, that doesn’t mean there won’t be “uninvited machines” trying to get on board.

Horizon Forbidden West is getting a major update that includes a new game+

A major new update for Horizon Forbidden West will add Performance Mode, Transmogrification, a way to reset skills, Ultra Hard Difficulty, New Game+, New Game+ Trophies, and more. The update will also add a new herbalist vendor and improved temporal anti-aliasing.

A new gameplay trailer for The Callisto Protocol not only showed off its horrifying world, but it also confirmed that the game will be released on December 2, 2022.

Stray gets a release date alongside the announcement it will be free for PS+ Premium and Deluxe members

The No Man’s Sky surprises continue as Hello Games has confirmed that it will be making a PlayStation VR2 version.
