Overall increase in cabinet sales; sales of made-to-measure cabinets increase by nearly 18% | Woodworking Network


Cabinet sales across all areas increased significantly in March 2022 compared to March 2021. Sales increases were even greater between March 2022 and February 2022, with sales in every category increasing by more than 20%.

According to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) Monthly Business Trends Survey, participating cabinet manufacturers reported an 11.3% increase in overall cabinet sales for March 2022 compared to the same month in 2021 .

Increase in March 2022 sales compared to March 2021:

  • Overall sales up 11.3%
  • Personalized sales up 17.4%
  • Semi-custom up 3.3%
  • Equity sales up 15.7%
  • Estimated quantity of cabinets decreased by 2.8%

The month-to-month comparison (March 2022 to February 2022) showed strong increases:

  • Overall sales up 22.9%
  • Personalized sales up 20.6%
  • Semi-custom up 23.2%
  • Equity sales up 23.2%

Estimated quantity of cabinets increased by 22.3%

Survey participants include stock, semi-custom and custom companies whose combined sales represent approximately 75% of the US kitchen cabinet and bathroom vanity market. KCMA is the premier trade association for kitchen cabinet and bathroom vanity manufacturers and the industry’s leading suppliers of goods and services. KCMA has been compiling and publishing industry sales data for over forty years.
