Meghalaya cabinet approves roster system for recruitment

Shillong, May 10 (UNI) The Meghalaya Cabinet on Tuesday approved the roster system for implementing the reservation policy in “letter and spirit”. The approval is significant after the Meghalaya High Court suspended all recruitment processes until the state government introduces a list system. “We finally approved the list system. The roster system will ensure that the reservation policy is implemented in letter and spirit,” said Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma. He said the government will submit his affidavit to the Meghalaya High Court during the hearing to be held on Wednesday. “So let’s see how things go, but the important thing is that the cabinet adopted the list system, so now we’re going to get things done,” the chief minister said. Noting that the state government had already put in place a roster system to implement the 4% Persons with Disabilities (PwD) reservation in the state, Sangma said, “With the incoming roster system, there are supposedly ten posts so of course there is there will be no booking for the physically disabled and again if there are 15 posts that have come out for recruitment the 15th post will go to the physically disabled.
