Junichi Masuda Leaves Game Freak, Named Creative Director of The Pokemon Company – Gematsu

The Pokemon Company has named Junichi Masuda as Chief Creative Officer effective June 1, the company announced. Masuda also resigned as chief executive of Game Freak, the company that created Pokemonto May 31.

One of the founding members of Game Freak, Masuda participated in the development of pokemon red version and pokemon green versionand supported the development of Pokemon series of games for many years.

At The Pokemon Company, Masuda will use his deep understanding of the Pokemon brand to develop new services and products.
