Four men injured, two seriously, after shooting in the Juniata neighborhood of Philadelphia


PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) – Four men are now hospitalized after being shot dead Saturday night in the Juniata neighborhood of Philadelphia.

Two of these men are in critical condition after being shot several times.

Gunfire erupted on the 1300 block of Luzerne Street shortly after 4 p.m.

Police say a large group of people were standing on the corner when a black Chevrolet Tahoe with two gunmen inside opened fire.

A 39-year-old man was taken to hospital by private vehicle where he was placed in a critical but stable condition. This private vehicle then left the hospital, according to the police.

A 20-year-old man who was shot nine times is also hospitalized in critical condition. Police say the victim is the son of a civilian employee of the Philadelphia Police Department.

An 18-year-old man was shot in the bicep, while a 37-year-old man was shot in the foot. Both victims are hospitalized in stable condition.

The armed men fled. Police said they found at least 27 spent casings from two separate firearms.

“It’s a busy area with a lot of people, a few businesses here…hopefully we can get more information on what happened,” Inspector DF Pace said.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Police are going through the surveillance video to get a better look at the vehicle tag and the shooters.

There was no word on the motive for this shooting.
