Nintendo consoles and Street Fighter games have a long history, but the last time we had a correct the main game was Street Fighter IV 3D Edition for the 3DS. The situation has not only been difficult for Nintendo fans. Xbox gamers missed street fighter 5 latest generation as Capcom struck a deal with Sony – making it exclusive to the PlayStation.
Thankfully, things are looking up for console gamers who don’t own a PlayStation device. After fears that this trend could continue with next-gen systems, Capcom today confirmed the new game – Street Fighter 6 – would arrive on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S in 2023. It also gets a PC version.
Based on the reveal trailer, Street Fighter 6 seems to mix things up a bit with an “immersive single-player story experience” and Battle Hub where you seem to run around exploring between fights. Ryu, Chun-Li, and various other characters will also return, along with some new ones.
While you probably shouldn’t expect any SF6 announcements for Switch, if Nintendo releases a more powerful console in the future, maybe Capcom will consider a port now that this new game has also been confirmed for the Xbox. In the meantime, Nintendo gamers can fall back on Capcom Battle Collectionwhich is coming later this month and even includes some classic Street Fighter games.
Besides this information, Capcom also updated the logo of SF6 after being accused of being an Adobe Stock Graphic. You can see it towards the end of the trailer above. Would you like to see this game on a Nintendo console one day? Leave a comment below.
