Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 report details reveal date

A new report has apparently detailed when Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will be officially revealed by Activision and Infinity Ward. Over the past two weeks, many different insiders and reports have claimed to know when Activision is planning to show up. MW2 for the first time. And while Activision itself has clearly changed its plans internally, it looks like we finally have a new date to circle on the calendar.

According to insider Tom Henderson (via a report by Calculator) it has now been said that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will be presented to the world for the first time on Wednesday, June 8. This date lines up with previous reports we’ve heard about the upcoming game being announced in early June. And while some earlier reports indicated that the reveal could take place even earlier in the month, it now looks like Activision has landed on that date.

One of the reasons the publisher might have decided to wait until June 8 to show up Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for the first time is due to a number of different events that occur in this window. For starters, Summer Game Fest is set to host its own major stream the following day, June 9, which means an appearance from modern warfare 2 could also happen here. Additionally, Xbox and Bethesda are hosting a showcase a few days later on Sunday, June 12. Again, there is no guarantee that modern warfare 2 will be featured at one or other of these additional events, but it’s still worth keeping in mind.

For now, the only thing we know for sure is that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will launch later this year and is expected to come to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. When new information is officially revealed by Activision, we’ll be sure to update you here at ComicBook.com.
