If there wasn’t enough drama circulating around Bayern Munich these days, star striker Robert Lewandowski and sporting director Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidzic are now embroiled in a good, old-fashioned, a he said, he said by Picture.
In a nutshell, Lewandowski said he didn’t receive an offer, while Salihamidzic said Lewandowski rejected the club’s proposal.
Who is telling the truth? Who is lying? This is modern FC Hollywood at its best.
The reality of Lewandowski wanting to leave this summer, however, is homecoming and now Pini Zahavi is reportedly increasing the pressure on Bayern Munich to sell his summer client per Sport1:
According to information from SPORT1, Lewandowski’s agent Zahavi has already reached an oral agreement with Barca. There is a three-year contract for the 33-year-old striker in the room.
Should Bayern signal their willingness to negotiate, the Catalans could act immediately and would also make an official offer.
So now it’s at Bayern. After eight years with countless titles, can they really deny the deserved goalscorer his wish?
One more year with Lewandowski would be beneficial for the club, but it’s now clear that he wants to leave as soon as possible.
Knowing this detail alone, Bayern Munich will have to reassess their hard line that the Poland international will fulfill his contract in Bavaria next season.
